The Blog has been Resurrected!

I've been asked a few times recently about the blog.  Life just got in the way of updating it, but I thought I'd quickly post some of the fun, exciting, challenging, and cute things we've done the past year.  Let make this my new year's resolution to post at least once a month.  I think I can manage that.

My last post was November 2011.  Man what I year it has been.  For starters the Niners are in the Superbowl!  Who'd a thunk???  I'm still pinching myself over it.  Stanford was victorious in the Rose Bowl, The Giants won the World Series, and now that the NHL Lockout has been resolved, the Sharks are off to a great start!  Sports wise, the Bay Area couldn't be happier (unless you're a Cal, Raider, or A's fan - ha!).

Now, let's get down to Kellen.  At age 2 years 9 months, Kellen is a spirited little boy who is tremendously bright, playful, and sweet.  He also has his "two year old" ornery moments...  You gotta take the good with the bad, right?  But, thank goodness it's mostly good.  We have this Elmo book, and at the end it asks the child to state what they are like.  Kellen often responds, "I like to play with my trucks and cars, I like to dance, and I love Mommy and Daddy and my blankey."

Jeremy and I are loving being parents.  We face many challenges but without those challenges we aren't able to learn and grow.  Being a mom is extremely rewarding.  Watching Kellen grow into the little toddler he is now is exciting as well.  When they say "kids are sponges," my experience has taught me they are actually superhuman sponges.  You don't even think they are paying attention to what you are saying, then days later a phrase is repeated verbatim.  Everyday I am astonished, amazed, and proud of the little boy Kellen has become so far.

OK, the next posts will contain a few pictures from that month's highlight until we're caught up (Dec '11 - Jan 13).
