7 month OB visit update

Yesterday afternoon I had my monthly check up (which will now increase in frequency to every two weeks). Baby is progressing well, and Mommy is working on staying healthy & comfortable. Baby's heart rate ranged between 135 & 140 (120 - 160 is the normal range), and sounded excellent. Baby is extremely active as well. I was also given another bottle of Glucola! YAY (not really)! It's the drink they make you chug in 5 minutes, and then you get your blood drawn an hour later to test for gestational diabetes. I had this done in the first trimester, and it's done again in the third trimester. I go back for my next OB visit on Feb 10th, and then on Feb 15th is our Welcome to Pediatrics class.

6 1/2 Month Update

Yes, I'm definitely getting bigger! I use to be able to get away with wearing my pea coat or a baggy sweater to hide the belly, but now there's no denying it. Many people at work (those I'm not in frequent contact with) are even stopping by saying "I didn't know you're pregnant!" Then when I say I'm due in April, they're in shock! It's not like I went around with a megaphone spreading the word at work. So, it's funny to see the reaction. Life with a big ole belly isn't too bad (although there are times when I miss my pre-pregnancy figure). Aside from the difficulty in putting on socks or getting up from a laying position, I'd say - I'm hanging in there pretty well.
On Saturday morning, I went to my first prenatal yoga class. I felt so great afterwards. I'm a little sore now, but a good sore. My friends Cortney & Trisha take the class too, and then it just so happened that a friend from high school was there as well! So, I'll definitely be going back. Classes are at the Harmony Birth center in Campbell. All of the services they offer are all about pregnancy which is really cool!
Enjoy the pics!

14 Weeks Left???

My oh my where did the time go? I can't believe 7 months (beginning of third trimester) is 10 days away. Holy cow! In preparation, Jeremy and I did a little early "spring cleaning" over the weekend. It was mainly him, as I function at about half speed now, but we took everything out of the room we've designated for the nursery & have set up what will now be our office/guest room. We still have a bit to do, but the bulk of it is done, which is great. I'm planning to receive a portion of the nursery bedding set in the mail any day now, and I can then begin decorating!!! If only we had help to take the ultra heavy treadmill out of that room. Any volunteers???

Things with me are going well. I'm getting quite round these days, and have begun to start experiencing difficulty putting on my socks & getting in & out of bed. But, all in all - I feel great! Check back in four days (the 18th) when I'll post the latest belly pics of me.

Go Buckeyes!!! Rose Bowl 2010

As we all head back to work, I wanted to share my Rose Bowl Experience! We drove down on the 31st, and stopped in Camarillo to visit the Rehders who are close Lane Family friends. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and we had a great time visiting with them. Then, off to Pasadena early Friday morning. We arrived a little after 10:00, and got our parking spot about a mile away from the stadium. We got ourselves comfortable and did a little bit of tailgating. Then, off to the stadium we walked. Boy, I know I'm 6 months pregnant, but I still felt like I can keep up with the rest of them...well, not anymore. I had to really slow down the pace, and thought to myself - I just figured out what my New Years resolution is...DAILY WALKS! After about 20-30 minutes, we arrived at the stadium. At first glance, it's interesting, because only half of the stadium sticks up into the sky. The rest is beneath the ground surface. We climbed up to row 65, and we were surrounded by enthusiastic, excited Ohio State fans...one of which happened to be the owner of the Old Pro Bar in Palo Alto! We were mixed in with a great crowd, and we had a ton of fun cheering the Buckeyes onto victory. The weather again was beautiful, a clear/warm 73 degrees. We even broke out the sunscreen! All in all, it was super fun. I was pretty comfortable the entire time, and really glad we were able to experience it.

The next day we visited with Jeremy's brother Jordan, his wife Amy & daughter Kathleen. It was so nice to be able to visit with little Kathleen who will already be a year old in a couple weeks! She's such a mellow-happy girl! I loved asking them about all of their "gear" to help with my registry selections as well. Later that evening we met up with Jeremy's brother Matt, his girlfriend Katy, my friend Sarah Adolphson from high school, and her boyfriend Rob in Manhattan Beach. It was a great way to end the weekend! Happy New Year Everyone!
